Shannon O. Alturas, O.D.

Dr. Shannon Alturas has been working in the optometric field for over 15 years. She graduated from the University of California, Irvine in 1999 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and went on to earn her Doctorate of Optometry degree at the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry in 2005. Trained in a variety of optometric practice settings across the United States, Dr. Alturas is licensed in the use of Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents and certified by the National Board of Optometry in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease. She has a special interest in children’s eye care, fits a variety of contact lenses including scleral lenses for keratoconus or dry eyes, and co-manages refractive laser surgery. She strives to provide and maintain excellent eye care to each of her patients by spending the time to address their individual needs. She truly enjoys and values getting to know her patients throughout the years.

In her free time, Dr. Alturas enjoys spending quality time with her family, taking her twochildren to their various after-school activities, and watching them learn and grow over the years. She also takes joy in Polynesian culture & dance and traveling with her family.

 

Suzan Burmayan, O.D.

Dr. Suzan Burmayan graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of California, Riverside and a Doctor of Optometry degree from the Western University of Health Sciences, as the 2017 Class Valedictorian. She is certified by the National Board of Examiners to treat and manage ocular disease including glaucoma, perform lacrimal dilation and irrigation, and is licensed in the use of Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents. She is experienced in the areas of primary eye care, LASIK co-management, and hospital eye care services. Dr. Burmayan has a special interest in children’s eye care and fitting multi-focal contact lenses. She strives to provide the best eye care service to keep you healthy and seeing well.

When Dr. Burmayan is not working, she enjoys hiking, cooking, and spending time with her husband and two daughters.

 

Christine Yee, O.D.

Dr. Christine Yee was born and raised in Southern California. She graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor’s degree in Biological and Cognitive Sciences. She then went to complete her Doctorate of Optometry with honors at the Southern California College of Optometry, also known as Marshall B. Ketchum University, as the class of 2020. She has trained in multiple clinical settings, such as the veteran’s affair hospital, military base medical center, and an ophthalmology retinal practice. Dr. Yee is TLG and TPA certified to treat and manage a variety of ocular diseases and eye infections. She looks forward to meeting and serving patients from all walks of life, especially children.

Outside of providing exceptional vision care, Dr. Yee loves spending time with her family and friends. Her Husky-German Shepherd mix puppy keeps her active and busy. On her quieter days, she enjoys drawing while sipping on a cup of coffee or boba.
